Racers was down to 1/3 maybe even a 1/4 of the last good mopar show that Josh King ran. I could be a bit off as I'm sure many racers could just drive in their modern mopar and drive it back home without needing a trailer.
I brought my cousin a carb and helped install it so he would have a car to bring and he ended up signing up for trophy class. Ran 14 something spinning in his 408 stroker duster. Air pressure adjustment and all of the rest of his passes were low 12's- lowest being 12.04 at 111 I think. I'd say he might be addicted and will go after the 11 second zone soon. I swapped so missed out on seeing his runs Saturday. But I enjoyed watching some racing today after they dried the track and they ended up calling it over with a few guys left to race but steady sprinkles coming down.
I guess a Couple guys were mad about the top end being loose or something as they were stopping on the return road right by the starter and having some words. They went down and sprayed the track after that.

The entire price structure way out of wack!
Wasn't for NSS. racers , it been a bigger flop!
No way I was going to enter my car at such high entry , I know of a dozen racers who wasn't going just over it, and at least that many show car guys who wasn't going to pay entry , fee trailer parking fee ,
I don't know who's brain child for entry fees was , but whom ever needs a reality check ,!

Well on Sunday they had first and second round of buy backs , on both pro and super pro, at cost of $50 each
It rained out in the finals of most classes
Fitting end to a dismal event

Scott S. has no interest on doing an event anymore, so the original isn't going to make a comeback.
He was selling old memorabilia in the swap area.
(I picked up a 2006 Dave Duell Classic metal sign from him.)

The cost of renting Gateway makes it difficult for a promoter to not lose his rear putting on an event.
The cost is almost triple what it was 10-15 years ago.

As far as Josh K. there's obviously a problem with him and Gateway and also Indy.
There are no M/Mopar events at either of them. I'm not saying that it's Josh's fault.
I know Gateway is hard to deal with these days.

If any event is to exist here it must be supported.
Yes people need to voice their concerns and idea, but it still should be supported.

Well I'm sure after this demise of an event
we may never see a mopar event back ,
My thought is , it wasnt a mopar event anyways ,
Then throw in the outrageous entry fees across the board , they need to stay out in Vegas, because obviously, they have money out there to throw away for their entertainment dollars.
But they have no-one to blame but their self on the dismal showing on this event

Other than the NSS racers there were only a few non Mopars there.
Even counting the NSS cars there were only a few non Mopars.

Most everyone that was there that I talked to enjoyed themselves.

I'm cheap as they come, but I was there to support the event.

I had fun, simple as that.
