It is passed time to change out my rusty fenders. Anyone use the aftermarket ones..?
Looks like I have to remove the wheelwell from my old one and reuse it.. that doesn't sound like much fun..

I am better off taking a trip south and finding some clean Mopar fenders?

Factory is always better than aftermarket in regards to fit. That said, I wouldn't buy a used set of fenders from far away without holding them in my hand first. In this case, I'd just go aftermarket and spend the time to make them fit properly.

Thanks,
This sounds like a reason to head to Florida and see the Big Daddy show...
Should be a fender or two on the way...

For my daily driver I priced fenders. New stock OEM fenders and used stock fenders were nearly the same price. Prepainted new aftermarket fenders were same as new OEM.

CAPA approved aftermarket fenders were 1/4 the price of new OEM. My set came and they fit without much tweaking. I had to bend a little sheetmetal around the headlights for little tabs to fit in little slots in the fenders. This was done by hand.

There is very little visible difference between OEM and CAPA. Possibly the bodyline creases are not quite as sharp on the aftermarket, but so close you wouldn't notice it especially after they get painted.

CAPA means the part is functionally equivalent which means it not only has to look identical but act identical such as crash resistance. I am satisfied with mine.

Painting as you all know is really expensive and is the only thing that I see advantageous about used fenders, if you can get a color match.

R.
