Would some of you mind sharing what specific tools are needed for removing trim and hidden fastners on an E Body.

It's looking like I might have time to do a full resto-I have all the normal wrenches and sockets plus an orbital and body hammers, but have no idea what tools or how to remove all the mouldings and trim. What technique do you use to get them to fit back on as tight as factory?

If you have any "gotchas" that you run into, I'd appreciate hearing about it too.

Thanks!

Just plan on buying new fasteners. For the rocker panel chrome piece and the trim pieces for the vinyl top, the nylon fasteners were so brittle, they just snapped right off. The chrome on the body next to the rear regulators came off pretty easy. The only pieces I had difficulty with were on top of the doors. I used a plastic body filler spreader to pop them off. I am sure there are proper tools for that and hopefully some one will chime in with them but that is what I used.
IMHO, none of the fasteners are reusable due to age.
Good luck

The clip tool I use most often is flat and shaped with a head that is like an arrow.

I'm sure there are better trim tools out there.
