An email was sent out to preregistered participants this evening.

Quote:
Dear Participant of MMW St. Louis,

It has come to my attention that there is a typo on the Welcome Letter that all of the participants received in the mail. I would like to make the correction to you now.

1. Early set up for Racers who have pre-entered is on Friday Sept. 30, 16 from 9 am - 5 pm,

2 Car Show participants can enter on Saturday morning starting at 7 am and Judged participants need to be in their spaces before 11 for judging to begin. Check in with the judging staff at the Car Show tent when you arrive.

I apologize for any confusion and we look forward to seeing you in St. Louis.

Having talked to them , Saturday no box race for 750 cost extra 95 , otherwise all you can have is time runs Saturday, and pay the reg 150 for Sunday race , with one time run,
As Dan said , this race will fail more than likely possibly worse than that of mega mopar was,
As I told them ill pay the 150 but not make single pass down the track
I want a mopar race , show here , but they need to be much better at the payout vs entry for the weekend,
250 for a weekend race way out of line and dooms this race , and slap in the face to us mopar racers ,
Then when it fails , we will never see another mopar show here , blame the racers for not showing again
Smh

add the fact that if you are in the car show they are charging 35.00 to park your trailer there and an extra 25.00 for anyone else coming in with you.i want a mopar show but not that expensive.

maybe some of the blame should go to the track charging too much to use the facility. I have talked to several groups and promoters that have told me gateway is just to expensive a venue to have an event at. I will be there with the NSS cars, we are kind of a piggyback event held alongside the muscle car event.

super pro payout 5K.... for the same entry at Vegas it was $2500 to win. Other than that, it looks like pretty much the same entry/payout as MaTS. I would think at a "Muscle ""CARS"" " event, where the pro class is usually the largest, the pay for that class would be right up there.... but maybe that keeps some of the "check chasers" from running both classes. Personally, I think we've come to terms with this event in the west, that it's not so much a "race" as a gathering of friends, and all things Mopar. So we have to share the field with "other" brands now. No big deal in my book.... just so long as my same group of mopar friends show up and we all have a good time. I didn't participate in 16 as I was chasing another series and decided to save my money for that, but we'll be there in 17. Still hope the event goes well, but then again, it's much easier for you guys back east to travel to many tracks in a close proximity. It's still amazing at MaTS how far people travel to get there to race.

As I told the promotor. I'm not a entry vs payouts kinda guy, I'm purely for fun guy,but , I have to get most bang for my buck entertainment value, for 2 days of fun ,I will spend well over 450$ , just way to much for my sub par payroll bank account can handle, as well as most of us in this area.
The super pro , NSS , Q 16 racers is prized at this event , rest are not welcome

"Phil is the one stepping up and spending about $100,000 to do this event."

I hope Phil gets his money back and learns his lesson.

Yeah, it's got a smallblock.

I pre-registered for the 'Time Only' class merely to support the effort and because it was one of the most economical entries on the race side of the event.

I just now happened to notice the 'Time Only' class is not even listed on the run schedule for the weekend. shruggy

Oh well...I guess they will squeeze me in somewhere along the way. Hopefully it's on Saturday...I cannot attend on Sunday.

I hope the event goes well. Phil is a good guy just trying to bring us more options as racers. I wish him the best with this new event. He is a better man than me putting up with all the whiners...BTW anyone wanna get me a shirt smile Oh yeah 2XL...

It was not a stellar turnout today. To be fair, the weather may have scared some away...it looked like it was going to pour down rain more often than not.

I'm glad they decided to have open time runs earlier in the day, for when we left at 5pm, they had yet to call the 'Time Only' class.

Price price, price
They priced way out of reason
Actually, be truthful, car counts way off , great group NSS RACER showed , hardly any pro cars , no sportsman to speak of
The spectator crowd wasn't that bad , as I said price deter a lot, going most was walking back , refusing to pay the 25 a head just to get in
Midway had one guy selling tools ,
Car show in the oval was ok , normal what's expected for high price entry,
Swap meet had around 25 guys
It's a shame that they allowed x brand to be in the Sunday show ,
I can't take my mopar to the Chevy show , or the Ford show ,
But price here really hurt them, and they won't listen , so what you see what you got
I went paid my 25 bucks , I enjoyed my self , had a good time ,

Who won and how were the payouts...?
Racers was down to 1/3 maybe even a 1/4 of the last good mopar show that Josh King ran. I could be a bit off as I'm sure many racers could just drive in their modern mopar and drive it back home without needing a trailer.
I brought my cousin a carb and helped install it so he would have a car to bring and he ended up signing up for trophy class. Ran 14 something spinning in his 408 stroker duster. Air pressure adjustment and all of the rest of his passes were low 12's- lowest being 12.04 at 111 I think. I'd say he might be addicted and will go after the 11 second zone soon. I swapped so missed out on seeing his runs Saturday. But I enjoyed watching some racing today after they dried the track and they ended up calling it over with a few guys left to race but steady sprinkles coming down.
I guess a Couple guys were mad about the top end being loose or something as they were stopping on the return road right by the starter and having some words. They went down and sprayed the track after that.
