I was wondering what the difference would be from a moroso electric w/p on stock housing compared to a meziere/csr electric w/p?

The meziere pump for a BB is 7# The aluminum MP WP housing and pump with moroso motor is 14.5#

The stock WP housing and pump weighs 21# add pullys and 1.5# Moroso motor and your looking at 23 to 24#

So your looking at a 15# + minimum difference between a Meziere and a stock steel housing, pump and moroso motor. mike

Your Welcome!, I weighed all 3 seperate pump setups on my bathroom scale minutes before I posted. The Meziere being my newest pump upgrade.

The insanity of getting the car lighter never stops. mike

Not only lighter, in this case you will be faster!
I did the test on an engine dyno with a 615 hp 440. I went from stock wp with crank driven belt to a Moroso electric motor and belt= 19 hp on back to back pulls!
For once the mfg. was accurate on their claim. Don

I just did this swap,,,
I wanted to put on a different FAN,,,to keep the car cooler,,,
Got a fan from "Eric" here on the board ( he sells them,,and a few members run them )
The FAN is awesome,,,moves a TON of air,,,,

The issue of clearance came up with my old Moroso,,belt driven water pump set up....( which i didnt care for too much anyways ),,,belt from the WP motor ran off the front snout of the water pump

I got a Meizere pump,,,and swapped it in. Fit with no problem,,, MUCH more clearance,,,and the car runs way cooler,,,
I wired the fan and pump on seperate switch's,,,,last fall,,i had to shut the fan OFF,,,cause the car was running too "cool" ( which is a nice problem to have ),,,

There is a weight difference,,,,dont recall how much,,,,
Not sure i saw ANY change is HP going from the Moroso to the Meizere,,,but hard to say,,,,

Doug

Before ( with old Moroso )

After ( with new Meizere pump )

New Fan ( from Eric )

I am running that same pump in a MP aluminum housing too. I am happy with it.

I though the meziere pump was a pump/housing combo.

They have both now. The 7# weight I gave was for the Meziere complete pump/housing combo.

I dont know the weight of the Meziere pump only for the stock type housing. But I would Guess it at about 3# to 4#.

I would estimate the total weight the Meziere pump with the MP aluminum housing to still be around the 15# range. mike
