Can anyone give some guides about doing this swap.
Is it even worth it?
One problem i see is that the -97 uses an electric speedometer. Im sure i can deal with that.
So any help and suggestions would be highly appriciated.
I dont have the magnum engine yet but theres a complete engine, trans, wiring setup for sale out of a -97 Dakota here for decent money.

What engine is in the B250 now? If it's a small block, I would be tempted to swap just the engine & use my '89 parts as needed to make the '97 engine run. I did this with my '96 Mustang with a '04 engine. I re-used my ignition, timing cover and throttle body from the '96 and the '04 bolted right in.

yes its a 318 tbi. I dont think the tbi system will work that well on the magnum engine.

The 89 intake will not bolt on the magnum engine the intake bolts are vertical on the magnum.

Yes, it will with a bit of work.

But trying to keep the 89 TBI system is not worth that bit of work.

They say there are no such thing as a stupid question.
They say there is always the exception that proves the rule.
Don't be the exception.

I agree with Supercuda, and that's rare. The TBI is a dead end system. The displacement difference between the engines is also reportedly enough that the computer isn't happy with it, either.

If you are going to try the TBI on a 1992+ Magnum V8
switch to the aftermarket MPI intake manifold
because the "dry air flow" beer barrel shaped factory manifold bottom space will fill up with gasoline droplets and its plenum plate gasket will almost surely fail.

My guess it that the TBI would work,
but a GM TBI system conversion is more adjustable and hackable
and therefore preferable.
