I am looking at a 1963 Dodge that is being represented as a real Max Wedge Super Stock car but the only documentation he has is an IBM card that doesn't seem to be connected to the car. How do you associate the IBM card to a car? What numbers are supposed to match?

VIN should be on the tag in the door jamb
SHIPPING ORDER NUMBER should be stamped on the body & on the fender tag

SO number is in 2 places ....on the radiator support and parcel shelf.
If it's not or looks dodgy walk away.......was this a orange car on eBay for $8k ?

If so the there is a pic of the SO number on the parcel shelf which seems to match the card but I'm no expert on the font typeset for the 63..... Maybe Scott from Harm's could chime in.

2nd,4th & 6th numbers on the parcel shelf look strange to me ....but that's just me.

No tag unfortunately. Have asked for pic of VIN tag in door jamb.

Yes, that is the car. There is no Rad support & the stamping he took a pic of doesn't seem to match the IBM card SO. I don't see how that card can be associated to the car? I think I see if you drop the 32 off the stamping the rest matches? What on this IBM card tells me this is a Max Wedge car?

If you have the VIN, I have Darrell Davis' book on the '63 Dodge MW cars.

The IBM card is legit it is in Darrels book......But the question is does this car match the card!

With no radiator support we must look at the parcel shelf. The picture supplied of the numbers looks somewhat dodgy ( my opinion).Question here is has it been altered? Or it could have possibly been welded in (to complete a rebirth)

A pic to the vin plate would also help...making sure it was not tampered with or replaced
That could mean a re birth.

As a note......It would be very difficult to get this card from Chrysler Historical without supporting evidence .
Maybe contact them and ask about its issue and any concerns you may have .
