Found it advertised on a local Craigslist for $500, so I gave the guy a call. After talk to the guy, I knew it was missing the frame from the firewall forward, the firewall and the floor. I still had to go look at it, of course.

After assessing the damage, I decided it was something I could build, so I left a deposit and made my way back home.

Here's some pics as I found it.

I knew it came with most of the body parts, including the complete original dash.

One I got home, I was able to unload and see what came with it. All the glass, minus one quarter window, all the garnish moldings, a set of 16" mopar steelies, the original tail lights and headlight trim, marker lights, and tons of rusty fasteners.

Basically, the only parts I'm missing (aside from the frame section and firewall/floor) is the hood, seat, gas tank and inner fenders.

It's a rough start for some, but I can work with it. I'll feel pretty good once she's a driver again, because her future looked pretty bleak until I found her.

I wonder what her past was, she's definitely an old hot rod, not sure what rear is in it, and the center x-frame was torched out by a previous rodder.

I can't wait to start on it, but she'll have to wait until my Model A roadster is a driver (any day now!!) and then I can start on it.

So that brings me to my big question.......

Whats everyone else been using to clip these?

very cool save
It really depends on what you want to do with it
you could use a dakota front frame section or what I would do is runs some rectangular tubing(maybe 2X4) and put a must II frontend on it. OR you could go the gasser route with it and put an axel under it
I like both of these Ron...

Nice score. I'd go the gasser route myself. I have always liked those things.

Breaking news; this just in: I don't like you very much from here on out. Nice score!
I'd restore it all the way back to stock, take a day or two off to admire my (your) handiwork, and then rip it apart and make a Hemi-powered rod out of it.
Is the 40 one of the years that will readily take a Dakota chassis?

Congrats! Ron guessed a Dodge, but is it a Plymouth? Oh, I see the grille now. Oops!
I've got a plymouth parts car. The frame is clipped though. They narrowed a Camaro stub. I would not go that way. Here are some Plymouths. I haven't been collecting Dodges, sorry.
