I'm looking for the part numbers for the 1967 383/440 4 barrel air cleaner housings. Doing some research, I've found two for the 383, one with an indent near the AC compressor and one without what are the part numbers for and what are the differences between these two housings? I've found one for the 440. -BD

There is air cleaner info here that may be of help, but no part numbers. http://www.nicksgarage.com/aircleaner.htm

I looked in my 1967 parts catalog. There are 10 (yes, ten smile ) part #s for 4 barrel air cleaners. It depends on engine size, no snorkel, 1 snorkel or 2 snorkel.

Can you narrow it down some?

My apologies, 383/440. I have updated the post above and I've seen the article at Nick's Garage, but no part numbers are given. surfing the web there seems to be quite a debate between unsilenced (no snorkel) and one snorkel or two. I want the performance or HP housing, i.e. it could have come from the factory that way. -BD

Here is the air cleaner parts listing from the '67 parts book.

"Cover" is the parts book term for air cleaner.

"C.A.P" is Cleaner Air Package, which was an option, except for California where it was mandatory.

I will post some more info shortly that may be of help.

Man , I just had my 1971 dual snorkel powder coated wrinkle finish

Was going to pop a thread on the correct vacuum hose routing on the bottom side for the vacuum pods

That's an excellent website for pictures

According to the '67 Chrysler dealer data books, Dodge and Plymouth were not equipped the same way. I have come across this before occasionally. One would think they would be the same but not always so.

You have not said what make model/model you are working with, so I will assume it is a B body.

From the '67 Coronet data book;
The text section says only 383-4bbl has unsilenced/no snorkel air cleaner. That infers all others had snorkels (but AFAIK hemi's did not have snorkels) but no info about which engine had what.

The illustration section shows a 440HP with dual snorkels.

From the '67 Belvedere data book;
The text section says 383-4bbl has twin snorkel, 426 and 440 have unsilenced/no snorkel. No mention of the other engines.

The illustration section shows only the hemi with the round chrome air cleaner.

Confusing?? yes it is. smile
