It's been some time since I took the fender's off my '72 Challenger and I forgot what this double sided screw does. shruggy It's located in the headlight area. If you know where I can get a new one that would be great too! up

It threads into the fiberglass surround and attaches it to the fender. The grill mounts in the FG surround.

To me the fiberglass surround is the grill, but I agree up

What's wrong with it? It's not a standard thread on the one side. The thread is special to screw into the fiberglass header panel. The wheel well side is standard thread and uses a nut w/captive washer to hold the header panel.

I have a couple extra fg surrounds in my parts storage. They should have the studs in them...at least a couple I would guess. Shoot me a pm.

Did you ever find those studs? I was at a Theisen's(Home Farm Auto)store yesterday and saw something that might work for you. It's just a double sided stud. 1/4-20 on one end and lag bolt threads on the other. You could just add a thick washer between the header panel and the fender.

Yes and no! I'm buying one local from someone who has a fender for sale but will need a second. I'll be picking it up this Saturday. Since you mentioned that I'll stop by my local hardware store when I get the bolt/stud and see if they have a close match. Thanks for the idea burdar!!! up

Well I picked up one local so here's a better picture. Looks like a hanger bolt with a fixed washer in the center. I took Burdar's advice and hit the local hardware store so I do have a back up plan if I don't find another original. The car won't be assembled anytime soon so no rush. up

Those ones at the local hardware stores should be located in the stair rail section. They can be used to join railing sections together.
