There is a Mopar kit that has the intake gaskets with a metal block off plate for each side. Part#P4286569 I have used it with no problems so far.
i found some metal intake gaskets that have one side open and the other side blocked (except for a small hole). i'll check out that part number

Sounds like FEL-PRO Part # MS900411. I just put them on my 318, but didn't use the block off gasket. The ones I got have '90009' stamped on them.
The set comes with 3 gaskets; two are open, and the third is blocked except for an 1/8" hole.
These are for small block, small port heads.

yup, thats what they look like too. I guess I will try the gaskets that i ordered and stuff the openings with aluminum foil. The melting temp is high enough that it should be ok and even if it did melt, theres only one place for it to go and thats out the exhaust pipe.

If it was easy, everyone would do it..Don't overthink it. Keep it simple and solid and you won't have a future problem to deal with. Look at what you think is the right way to do it, take advice/previous experience into account and do what you feel comfortable with..
my problem is that the head i have were milled years ago (before i bought them). everytime i've put them on, i have fought with them because the intake surface on the heads werent cut correctly. so the intake always sat up high. it sat so high that the bolts wanted to go in crocked. I could get the bolts in (barely) but it wasnt right. there was just too little space for the gasket.
the heads intake needs to be cut. I bet if I cut it so the ports aligned correctly, this car wiuld fly. as it is, im losing .200" in the height of the port because of the misalignment.
Thats what im working on fixing first. once I get the surfaces cut right, then I will think about the cross over. The last thing I need right now is adding a shim in there that might make it worse. Once the intake sits right, then I'll hack up a gasket and use some stainless steel plates my buddy gave me today

I checked the SB stroker manual & a thick comprehensive MP circle track manual that has tons of fact/figures/details that I will never use & found everything BUT the intake angle
i know. ive looked at all my sources and cant find a thing. im ready to get a protractor out and wing it on an old 360 manifold I have.
I figure someone must know what that angle is.
