Does anyone know where I can purchase the headlight adjusting nut that is used on a 70 Cuda? Each car uses 4 (2 per headlamp). Several of mine are broken (see picture below).

Or does anyone on the board have 4 NOS nuts, or really nice originals?

Thanks.

Rob

Rob,

I ordered these Monday - http://www.ebay.com/itm/172074937943?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2648&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I'll compare them to my originals when they arrive Friday, but initially look perfect.

Yes, I ordered extra, well you know....

Tom

I think AMD also has them. Rock Auto lists them but they are not an exact copy. Look like they would work. Nice thing about Rick's and AMD is they also include the spring which seems to often rust (at least they do here at ground zero for corrosion)

Thanks everyone! Depending on what Tom's e-bay clips look like, I may order them from Resto Rick. I need to give him a call anyway about restoring my heater box (passenger side air outlet lip is broken).

I've found the ones from CarQuest pn# 8053015 (6 per box) are pretty much a match for OEM, the other repros on the market are often bright white nylon inserts in the spring steel cage, the carquest's are off white, more OEM looking, the cage and screw are OEM appearing

I checked the CARQUEST catalog and that part number does not seem to work.

I also tried the search and it doesn't recognize the part number. I'll have to stop by a local store and see if they can get them.

The plastic color on the Carquest version appears closer to my 46 year old yellowed original part. The screw is definitely different.

Mike,

Does the metal retainer on the Carquest nuts look similar to the retainer on the nut Tom posted?

IIRC on my car I used a repo nut and an original replated screw

The nylon insert and cage retainer look identical to OEM, just the screw head is slightly different...
