I recently replaced the main body on my Bigs 950HP with a BLP billet main body. The original body had 1.40" venturi's and the new one is 1.59" so the tune is completely differently. I work 12 hour swing shifts so I have missed the T&T's here and wot tuning on public roads is not a chance I'm going to take. Plus when I ran it on the engine dyno we didn't mess with the timing much, so this was a chance to play with it.

I had the carb fairly close with 78/88 mains, it wound up with 80/85. I suspect that on the end it'll be 78/87 as it was rich at cruise with 80's in the front.

The timing ended up where we stopped on the engine dyno, 34°. We tried 32,34,36 and 38°, 32° was only down 1 hp from 34°. It was interesting for sure as I'd never been on a chassis dyno.

The only problem was discovered after I was home and the car was in the shop. Apparently the car moved on the rollers and bent the shock plate on the drivers side and bent one of the adjusters on one of my brand new Viking shocks. I called and sent photo's to the dyno operator/owner and he says he didn't do it.

Now I have put 10-12 miles on the car since installing them and this was the first time trailering with them on. I know for a fact it wasn't bent when I loaded it because I backed both adjuster knobs on both shocks per Viking's instructions. I have tie down plates welded to my shock plates that I use to tie the car down but the dyno guy wouldn't use them and insisted on using axle straps. I finally told him to forget it I'd take care of it myself.

Look at the drivers shock in this photo.

Dang - hate to see that. It took some good amount of force to move it like that. I love the tie down tabs though. Great idea!

Should just put the adjustable mounts on the rear. The shocks work better straight up n down anyway.

Luckily it doesn't look like the shock is hurt. Hopefully it's not too much work to fix it. Guy should take responsibility, if he hooked wrong, just like a car mover.

I removed the shock last night and as I suspected one of the adjusters is bent. While at work yesterday I called Viking and ordered another adjuster and knob, hopefully it'll be here by mid week.

The guy that owns and operates the dyno for all intents and purposes called me a liar over the damage, so I told him not to worry about it. It's not worth fighting with him over it.

I'm thinking the tab will need to be heated before straightening it, afraid it'll break if I don't.

BTW it made 543 RWHP in street trim.

I'd check all the break lines on the housing also. If he's that incompetent then cover your a $$

I'm taking the turbo car to Beech Bend tonight if you get out

I checked everything and didn't find anything else damaged.

I'm working days this week end so I'll have to stick close to home, 4:30 comes early.

Good luck.
