Very long story. My 1973 Lincoln Mark IV needs a carb, and the edelbrock 750 performer on the power wagon isn't that great off-road. On inclines, it floods out. So I want to put that carb on my Lincoln, since it works fine otherwise. That leaves the power wagon needing a carb.

I was looking at the 670 truck avenger, or thermoquad. I had ran a 670 street avenger with good street manners and ok gas mileage. But it too stalled out on inclines.

Are there any other carbs I should be looking at? I don't do much wheeling past 45* but would love the ability (without going EFI).

Thanks in advance!

Thermoquad is a great carb for that, Its finding someone who can rebuild them worth a damn. Fortunately I have a guy near me that has rebuilt a few over the years for me. Still only charges me $275. Can't beat it

The Truck Avenger has spring loaded floats for off-level operation. I'd go 770 as the vac secondaries make the carb as big as the engine needs.

The Holley Street Demon is pretty close to a T-quad and you can buy one new, which makes it better. I'd get the 750 with the space age plastic bowl.

I agree with the thermoquad. I had my Ramcharger standing on its rear bumper and it was still running. Declines weren't as well as inclines, but was still pretty good. I have a street demon on my powerwagon, but I don't do much offroading with it. It does handle the very bumpy ride very well though.

I have a 670 Truck Avenger on the 318 in our '70 W100. For the 440 definitely go with the 770 as said above. Our 670 has been flawless for almost 10 years of abuse, neglect and hard work running whatever fuel I could find (think parts cars, etc lol).
