I never went that wild with the /6 I had, but the guys over at www.slantsix.org will be able to tell you for sure. I would like to turbo and inject a slant one of these days.
1968 Charger project. I don't have a fender tag or a buildsheet, so it's getting a 440. Help me decide on a color--most everything looks great! (NOT white. My Challenger is white. Need some variety :D) 1974 Challenger 360 2012 Challenger R/T 1991 Dakota 5.2

Avoid the Mopar performance "race" cam (I forgot the number) I had soft oil pump drive gear. It literally wore away in about 5000 miles. Sent it back to Mopar performance and they told me that it was installed incorrectly. (Work was done by a well known shop in CT.) This happened to me twice. After that I went with a sealed power cam without any problems after that. I will never buy another cam from Mopar performance.
Are you referring to the 528? The very first ones were fine and I know many people that have run them with no problems. I have one of the first mopar 528's that came out. There have been a couple like you have noted that have had problems. But I guess some things good, some things bad? Much like the mopar performance orange boxes I guess..Mine didnt even last a year and then again I know people that have owned the same box on thier same car for at least 10 years so go figure

I had a 528 kill my first good Slant in about 800 miles. Wore the oil pump gear away until the pump stopped turning.
General consensus was that the blanks had the gear hobbed at just slightly the wrong pitch.

Erson is still doing a group buy on the cams. There was a link over there from an article in Hotrod magazine about turbo cams. If you want a cam to run with the Offy it will be bunches different than a turbo cam. www.slantsix.orgSeeeeya there!
