crash520 - The engine is the same as you're building except the CR is 11.8, 950 cfm quick fuel on gas, Indy single plane cut down 1" (no hood scoop!), Harland Sharp full roller rockers. It made 595hp / 525tq. The trans is a low gear 904 with an A&A brake, 5500 8" PTC converter, rear is an 8 3/4 with a spool and 4:10 gears. EFI is on the list for me. Which system are you going with?

My trans is all A&A, manual obviously, no internal gear change, cam is 254/262@50 108 with 630 valve lift on 1.5 HS rollers, 2.08/1.6. Eddy Victor manifold with TTI 1 7/8 headers, still have not sorted a converter at this point but I'm thinking 3500-4000 stall.

As its mostly a street driven car with the weekend run down the strip, I ended up with a FAST XFI TBI system. I believe direct port injection is better but I chose TBI for the only reason, if I went port injection, I would want to install EGT sensors to make sure I didnt have a cylinder leaning out due to a [censored] injector under high RPM's, I didnt want to do this hence the TBI, the FAST XFI has a couple of programmable tunes so I can have a street tune and a strip tune. Most all of them seem to have almost all the same features now so it depends on what your likes are, Im happy with my choice for now, its not installed nor is the engine built yet but hopefully soon.

Your Indy manifold has the direct port bosses ready to machine into them so no welding plugs onto runners so thats a plus

About 4" though with some work I believe I can get another inch. That's this winter's project.

W2 EFI with Indy intake with 1" removed to fit under the stock hood. My wiring isn't near as fancy though.

Megasquirt 3 with expansion(MS3X) for sequential fuel and spark. I ran ignition only for about half of last year and moved onto the EFI side in April this year, the W2 motor is new and has only been running for the last month.

Sounds like a good system. Good luck with your build!

How is it performing and what was the learning curve like? From what I can tell, the Megasquirt systems are not for the beginner.

Its is performing well, I am still learning but it runs and drives great. I have been struggling with a little bit in the 60ft at the track but I think I have that figured out for the next trip.

It wasn't easy but certainly was not hard. The hardest part is the wiring, and its mainly just time. There is a fair amount of research and custom crap involved but a lot of that has to do with having a small block mopar haha. The software is pretty easy to understand and work with and it can "learn" very well also but still requires some manual input to help it along. I have really enjoyed it.

To help understand it and to save money I assembled an MS3 with expansion kit I got from DIYAUTOTUNE.COM but if I were to do it again I would buy the MS3PRO from them and skip the ECU assembly part.
