We were there. Will be in Norwalk as well. Learned a lot about soupy air for sure. We think we have a better handle on it for Norwalk. Cancelling the T&T and missing one qualifier put us behind the 8 ball. Guessed for Q1 and were ok, missed Q2 because of the rain and tried to be better for Q3 and laid an egg. Went back for RD1 with a better plan from those two runs and at least looked half way decent and lost a career best in the other lane. Oh well we will be better in Norwalk. After all we just have a little ole small block.

Our first round opponent was a new bodied Mustang, looked like a Jr Pro Stocker..We don't know all the players back east at all. But we understand that car had a Olds headed pro stock motor. Kinda not within the spirit of the rules since he is getting a 150lb olds weight break for running an "olds" motor. Had us a bit confused for sure as our west coast BB cars have to ad a fair amount of weight yet a pro stock motor gets a 150lb weight break. Interesting interpretation of the rules for sure. He got around us about 1000' mark running an 8.09. Second round he went .33 natuarally. Beautiful car though.

The weight off for an Olds used to be only for the 60's-70's older style 4.625" bore space combo, are you saying the DRCE headed combo gets 150 lbs. off? What combo are you running?

That was Koury's car , I believe nmca has taken the weight break away this year and made them race as cat 3 heads. What car did you have there. We raced Leonard Long in the first round. We went 8.12, we pedaled it 1 second out. They went 8.04. The owner of the car you raced used to be Larry Morgan's partner I think.

Yes it is we know whos car it is, killer car and very nicely done. We know all the players out here and see some of them out west at years end. We talked to the tech guys about a few of the combos and weights and did not get a clear answer on that combo and a couple others as to weight. We left with the impression it got the weight break still?!? The weight deal was/is 175 I misquoted. We run the red Corvette. We have a better handle on the air now we feel, with the help of Dale Cubic we feel better about Norwalk for sure. We had to add 135lbs to the car for the East Coast rules so defintley a learning curve. We run with some of these guys when they come out west and wanted to come get a taste, we will likely be back next year as well. Just trying to get a feel for what the car likes in this air and at this weight. Also helping our defending NA 10.5 Champ who chose not to add the 255lbs he had to for out east. Instead he is running Nitrous Pro Street. This is the car I crew chief for(sold my hunk as the weights when they started NMCA out west was not good for us). Suffice it to say we are the only people running this cylinder head in NA 10.5 and probably one of few in the country running it at all. We are also one of the very few teams that build their own engines 417" SBC This is our defending NA10.5 Champ running NPS who I we are traveling with. He is coming to Norwalk as well and I keep trying to talk him into adding the weight and running NA10.5

Car and driver builds the engines. He has since day one. I have been thinking of rejoining the fray with my own deal. SBM but will have to be a RWD conversion deal so will take that weight hit, as well as for the heads. Not sure if I will ever give it a go again with a Mopar but have given it passing thoughts, and looked at a few Stratus and Avenger SS cars. He had the same cast Olds covers on it this weekend too as well as a cast intake. I do know where another one of those is too, as well as some nice 959 heads

Some of these cars are definitely getting away from what they were. Their new Mustang pretty much is a Jr Pro Stock car under that skin. We still have all the glass in the vette, the power windows and the vintage Pioneer Super Tuner that works in the car Althogh each year we change some more stuff. For this year we finally axed the heavy seats in favor on a single lightweight one. But my kid did repaint the car this year too.

I talked to Vince last year at Milan for a couple hours. VERY sharp guy. You can about bank on whatever he is showing, is NOT all he has. He is an ex Pro-Stock world champ. Not sure about Morgan, but was a team car with WJ at one time

For now for me it is finish the Top Sportsman car. I do look occasionally for a car to come play in NA again but nothing serous. We have an idea for a combo if I decide to go back. For not I will continue to play crew chief and help the NA cars. We are just trying to have fun. Third combo in three years for us but getting close.

Al, I think Jeff Taylor is still trying to get rid of a Super Stock Avenger. It was setup for a gen 3 hemi. Older body style but should be fairly light.

Yes I have seen it...He wants to sell it T/K only for now. BUt I do know it's pout there. Wann also has one out here I tried to buy before he got it. I would really like Leopolds new car or the one Jacob Pitt is driving now.
