Is it me or is Herbs F8 Green Met 1198 for 1970 Interiors a little too light. I have some original Green trim and its much darker. Looking into Sem Color coat. What do you think. The paint seems to spray out and look good.

I agree, we bought some of Herb's and it was too light, so called TCP Global and had some original 'Bayou Green Poly' mixed up for the metal trim pieces, haven't sprayed it yet but will be doing so in the near future. They also made up some of the same color for us in SEM for the console, dash pad, and door panels.

F8 green interiors are tough to match, as the shades of green vary depending on the trim piece/panel

I'd recommend SEM from experience, these 2 SEM numbers might yield the darker shade you need, SEM# C-VP5084 Dark Midnight Green, and SEM# 0557 Dark Green, I'd also recommend SEM Low Lustre Clear be sprayed over the final color coat, you won't see no sheen, very transparent and natural looking, but protects the "dyed" surface from marring/dirt/scuffs/cleaning products/etc

(and thank you Mike and all who made suggestions in the above thread) but respectfully, I think the midnight Dark Green is a little too dark, may be a good match for the B-Body Dark Green Poly though. And the SEM 0557 looks to be spot on for the later green (71 and maybe even later to 73 or 74?) e-body interior green, but still a little different than the 1970 shade. I know I'm getting picky now, for sure. But still hopeful what they mixed for us as 1970 Bayou Green Poly will be a good match.

A lot depends on the base color your spraying over, if the pieces are already green, but need freshening, then a light coat usually suffices and may not affect the shade too much, but if the replacement parts are say black then regardless of how well the match is, it may appear too dark after a spray out because of multiple coats needed to achieve color saturation? lots of variables for sure

I just went through this trying to match the Bahama Blue (1968) interior of my 'vert. I ordered the TCP global stuff in acrylic urethane and it was too dark. SEM didn't have a good match so I ended up with Dupont's Spectra Master Vinyl Paint. It comes in an incredible selection of colors and is available in different glosses as well. Be forewarned, it is pricey, but covers well.

Going to get some SEM matched to my original trim. Thanks for the replies. Green is a hard one. Looking at original cars green seems to be all over the place.

Great product but the green I got for my 71 Plymouth was not even close to my original green panels either....

Yeah, had problems with Herb's Parts interior paint as well. It went on in a very narrow spray pattern, leaving lines and not very consistent. It also sputtered from several cans causing some re-work. Finally, my experience was that they weren't very great to deal with....

Where did you get the Dupont product you mentioned?
I'm going to face the same issue with my 69 Charger with a Green interior.
