I am getting ready to install the Poly windows in my fiberglass doors and was wondering what material to use for the frame work? Do I need solid 3/8" rod or will say 3/8" steel fuel line work? Also, how would I mount the rear side windows in a 70 hardtop B-body? Pictures would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance,

Digger73 (Mike)

Thanks for the reply.
Did the kit have everything in it to put the windows in?
Also how was the fit?
How about the rear side windows?

Thanks,

Try 3/16 or 1/4" solid aluminum rod. Definitely not that pricey. Seen some local track voiding certain bracket/index classes with that set up. Probably trying to keep a factory/street appearance.

I was going for an aero type look with my car when i did the windows. I had cut the rain rail off the door frame so i had something smooth to line up to. instead of mounting the window inside the door, i mounted mine on the door with the flat brace behind to screw to. we made a small 1/4 window sized frame rail from 1/4 steel tube to support the front section & in the rear i fitted a latch to support the door window onto the rear window. At 140 mph my windows are staying in place real well.
