Does anyone know of an existing type of header that would fit on a '67 dodge sweptline truck with a 440 and 727 combo?

HP (68/69 type) cast exhaust manifold on driver side is angled towards steering box and will not work.

Was thinking truck manifolds with the center dump but thought maybe I should go the header route.

The early Sweptlines had a major crossmember where the bellhousing is and most header designs will point the collector right at this crossmember.

It would literally be easier to swap to a '69 frame.

It is a restored truck. All stock except for this conversion to BB which is a tribute to my customers dad. That forward crossmember by the trans is tucked in pretty good. It is an auto truck and I believe the cross members differ between autos and manuals... manuals being bigger and taking up more space.

For a street truck you should probably go with the Sanderson type shorty headers that center dump like the factory cast iron. There are lot of that design available on E-bay. I have never seen a factory truck manifold that was not cracked.

There was a nice set of Sanderson headers for sale at the Belvidere Mopar show this weekend for $150. In my 69 D200 383 truck I have a set of headers that are nice, got them used at a swap meet and had them jet-hot coated as they were mint. Put them in the truck 20 years ago and still in great shape. I wish I knew who made them and what the part number is... shruggy

For long tube headers, what fits in a '69 will not fit in a '67. I can never remember if a '68 is early or late style.

The automatic early trucks had the same rear crossmember but it was cut and the middle section replaced with something that looked homemade. It is possible that enough material was removed that the collector does not run into the crossmember.

I just know on my LA powered '64 there was no way to use headers without major modifications, like lengthening all four tubes.

Moparts does have a truck forum with plenty knowledgeable people.

68 is early style too.
