I picked up a mini starter for my 440 and on the bottom of the starter it has tow rubber nubs on it.What are these nibs for?

What application did you get it for? It has to be for a V8 0r 3.9 V6. V6's with trans axles will not work as in caravan of car v6's. Also take off the plastic connector adapter at the terminals for more clearance.

I think they are to let moisture drain out if any should get in.

rubber nubs are for wires going in from silonoid to motor

one could be a drain hole boot IIRC,but seems they were insolation for the internal wires

I would have to go look at mine on the shelf again

yes, remove the plastic adapter piece that is on it and then hook up the batt and silonoid wires

you will like lifting the 6LBS starter way more than the 32LBS old style starter for sure

Thanks for the replys.

Do I need to worry about these melting because of heat from the headers?

IMO...no

I seen where a starter was draging and over heating..while not working melt them

but it melted the positive cable along with burning up the starter

I got one tube of my header a finger width from the round end of the silanoid and have had no issues with heat so far

got my mini from the jy 14$ off a 94 v-6

just route the wire away from heat and your good to go!
