Has anyone restored a set of these? I got lucky a few years ago and found 8 separate medallions from different vendors at Carlisle. My seats are going out next month to get recovered and now is the time to get the medallions on. My interior is green, and most of the medallions have black fabric inlaid in them. Some of them are apart, and a few of them are still assembled. Is it easier to just paint the fabric inside a close match to the interior green?

Actually, looking at them now again, the fabric doesn't even come through does it? Looks like the only option is to paint the center portion green.

Anyone else done this?

I've never understood why nobody has reproduced them (as far as I know); they were hard to find 30 years ago and must be nearly impossible now.
Mine were vinyl, so dying the center bit when I needed to wasn't too big a deal. I don't know how to turn cloth into vinyl though. Actually, I didn't know they made any medallions with cloth inserts, but I guess it makes sense for 4-door cloth seats.
I haven't had any in my hands in a long time, but I don't think they came apart easily; maybe somebody can post a close-up photo.

Thanks for the information. I think I was wrong when I said cloth initially. I believe you're correct in that the center portion is vinyl. Paint (or dye) seems to be the only option. And yeah, they don't come apart easy. I don't think they're made to come back apart.

I'll try to get a photo or two posted up of what I've got.

Mine were vinyl because the seat covers were vinyl ('68 Road Runner Decor Group). I should probably have said that.

I just sold 4 green and 4 black ones. My upholstery guy said he would just dye them to match my seat covers. Said it was no big deal.
