Breaking a new motor in....I've done that a few times. But not one with a fresh auto tran too.

So my question is how to make sure the trans as enought fluid....don't you need to shift the trans or something to get the pump to pump the fluid threw the trans to know if you have enough fluid in it?

Thanks for the help.

Pore a quart of fluid in the TQ before you install it and at least 7 more in the pan (if you have a deep pan) and have it in neutral when you start it so the pump is running. That's the two main things
so it gets lubed everywhere. after your cam break in and your down in rpms then run through al gears including reverse. any time your farting around for extended periods in the garage have it in neutral so it lubes. Course block the wheels if you have no E Brake.
Some newer designed valve bodies run the pump in neutral but????
