Thanks in advance

same manifolds for 68-70 a-body and 1970 e-body

only difference is that the earlier manifolds have "outey" fonts, while the later cast ones (somewhere in the 1970 model year) switched to "inney" fonts

by 1971 the e-bodies used more of a log/non high flow type manifolds,

in 1971 the a-bodies used the 68-70 left manifold but used the log/non high flow type rh

by 1972 the a-body had their own high flow left manifold, looks similiar to the 68-71 left but had provisions for a heat stove

Thanks Tony... So would these I have be appropriate for a Challenger T/A?

I would say that you could use them on the T/A, but if you wanted to get picky the dates may be a little early.

I thought most survivor TA/AAR's have the "inney" font?

I'd imagine other 340 cars built at that time or later were same as Tony states.

Just a matter of how detailed you want to get/achieve.

Some pics to illustrate what Tony posted. The most confusing year is 1971 because that was a first year passenger side manifold that all A,B,E, & C body 340's & 360's used. Casting number is #3418623

However, only the A-body 340's got the 68-71 Style Drivers 340 manifold, casting number #2863553.

*Also, along with what Tony mentioned, the "Innie" vs "outie" versions of the drivers side #2863553 castings, agreed, the "innie" versions seem to be on most later engines (late 1970 and later) but I have seen some raised number casting examples on post 1970 cars as well so I wouldn't call that one an absolute, probably just a bit of old vs new inventory crossover typical of the era. .02

*This is a photo of a set off of a 1971 340 Duster

And here's a set from a 1971 340 E-body, passenger side is the same as the A,B,&C body 340/360.

Scott

Do you have pictures of the other side.
There always seems to be confusion with sellers selling these as to how they are represented...center port with divider vs no divider.

And here is what the back side of a 1971 E-body drivers side 340 manifold looks like

I may be mistaken but I recall seeing a 3418623 with the divided center port and an August 70 date, if I remember correctly..
I may have pictures somewhere.
Has anyone else ever seen such a manifold

I don't recall seeing any 3418623's with a divided wall. So far I've only had 3-4 sets of them (dated for a 71 model year car) earliest was cast date 3-31-70

Thanks Scott.. What I have are the top 1970 All manifolds... So, since I don't need them any more, these will go to my buddy for his T/A restoration then..... smile
