I'm not an ace on this, but perhaps someone can hone in on some ideas.
Lets just say, if air entering an opening is of course first allowed usage/passage of that entire opening but then narrowed down as it gets half way in, will it pressurize itself thus speed it up more?

Not sure if this is what you are talking about.

I'll say yes. Same principle as a radiator shroud. Air builds pressure in front of shroud which increases air speed out the other side.

Not enough info for an accurate answer.
If air is moving (A: what is making it move) velocity will go up (to a point based on "A") if the orifice is decreased in size, while pressure will rise as it approaches the minimum area.

"use it 'till it breaks, replace as needed"

Makes me think of a carb venturi. The air will speed up when it hits the smaller area and create a low pressure area in the venturi. But that is air being pushed by atmospheric pressure into the low pressure area. Ron

I bought a electronic manometer to see if my cobbled together ram air system was working. At 90mph I had .3 lbs. positive pressure just in front of the carbs. Dave

Lets first call the vast inside area of my outdated scoop attached below as the "Facility"
I'm just thinking of a poor mans super charger effect utilizing the scoop by creating a series of dams with various foils or spoilers inside the "facility" that will probably only work at speed. I have a few drawings that will take time to develop into actual dams that will then be temporarily affixed inside and do some testing Motown Missile style.

Here's my boys Poison Dart with the ever so popular Hurst Hemi scoop and it might not work as good on it because of the short field in the "Facility" But I will give it a try.

I think what you are talking about can't hurt anything. I added a daily newspaper mail box (paper box) to my old 440 in my 67 belvedere and picked up 3 tenths over no hood.

I know you will pick up MPH if you block off the grill

I lost et blocking the grill in back 2 back tests but I believe it was due to the "pocket" since I attached it inboard but if you can mount it flush it may work better............

I appreciate the concern about my grill and some good pointers, but you do know I am talking about the inside of the scoop right?

I have some ideas which are wild, but may work upstairs.

If you shoot me your cell # I`ll send a pick of my air dams that I`ve tested and really work along w/a sealed air pan and pressure release holes at the rear of my 6-pack scoop..............
