Looking to get a new battery for the race car. I've had good success with Mopar Performance batteries in the past, but they have really went up in price like all others as well. I do run a Chrysler alternator but use an electric fuel and water pump along with an electric fan. I was looking at optima's but are they that much better? Which one would be best? The car is purely race, but has all factory wiring with the addition of a MSD 6AL box and the other electric components above. I do try to charge the battery before each race day as well to make sure it's good for those late rounds on those hot days.

I only buy interstate now, because they last! Been thru the autozone, advance, Sears brands and they never seem to last nearly as long and or fail prematurely in the climate changes of NY.

A battery is for starting the engine.... the alt makes
the power to run all the stuff so you better have a
good alt or get a bigger one and make sure the wiring
is up to it
EDIT
I buy my battery from Costco
wave

I like the Optima still. Red top is for use with an alternator, yellow without. On the hot days where I'm running the water pump and fan a lot between rounds, I'll put the charger on it then. My first red top from 2004 is in my trailer, running the winch and tongue jack.
