Can anyone post photos of an interior of the following? - E-body pistol grip non console Versus - Non console, non E body
Photos of original buckets for both.... or did all bucket seat non console automatically come with the E body pistol grip?
Thanks

E body pistol grip shifters are the same, console or non console
Console was optional on 4spd, depending on model designation and interior decor package ordered
4spd was optional, 3 spd was std, depending on models Right. Okay how about this. Rephrasing the question. Post a photo of a non console E body shifter and a photo of a B body car without an E body shifter or console. Mounted In the car of course.. Bucket seat only I'm only interested on where the shifter came out on the hump since there were two mounting locations.

Yep. Thank you.
Now if I get the E body non console I'll have both.

The reason I'm asking is that my charger had the E body shifter. Was it factory with it? Not sure Anyhow I was told I'd be shifting from the back seat if I tried to bolt in a bench seat shifter. My son and I bolted in the bench seat shifter and it fits like it belongs there. So I'd like to see what an Ebody shifter location should look like to compare to what I have.

In 71+ B bodies they use the E-body location for either shift; bench or non-bench.
If you had bucket seats you would have the shorter shifter.
Actually the 71-2 B (73-4 as well) body had 2 shifter positions, the E/B REARWARD location WITH/WITHOUT console, and the MID/FORWARD BENCH location for the BENCH shifter which you could have with BENCH or buckets and a buddy seat There's also 2 different floor humps for each application, as well as 2 individual shifter mechanism set ups as well, not counting the handles I think the OP needs to clarify WHAT year/make/model shifter he's using and WHAT car year/make/model it's going into...

I'm assuming this is the correct statement. So, there just is not two locations on the 72-74 models?

Incorrect statement, see my posts above showing all the components for both locations, the rearward location is approx in line with the end of the steering shaft where the steering wheel attaches, the BENCH SEAT location is approx 6" forward towards the dash from the end of the steering shaft spline where the steering wheel attaches

Thanks Mike.
After reading above about what 71-72 had I thought maybe 73-74 didn't fall under that 2 location deal.
6" difference is all there is then? Well, with how mine fits I couldn't have ask for a better location using the bench seat shifter. If/when I get a chance to sit in a bench seat 4 speed 73-74 charger I'll be sure to see how the difference feels.
The other charger I have has a buddy seat. Lynch road car without build sheet. That mount seems to be same location. But the pistol grip was replaced with a t handle hurst. So. Hard telling what was factory with that one.
Thanks so much.
