Here's the poop.
The car is a '65 Dart with an 8pt. roll bar.
Engine is a 408/auto.
I intended to put a full cage with front tubes to the front frame rails, so I cut out most of the inner fender. Now it looks like the cage won't be going in this year. Do I have to weld the shock mount to something or will I be alright for this year. The shock mount is re-enforced. And I still run the torsion bars. The front pulls maybe 4", but that might change with the new converter. Will I be alright for this year,or do I have to to add a front bar?

Damn! I dropped my change.............

Here's an easy way to do it without a cage. These front bars were installed many years ago when the car just had a roll bar. The firewall is made stronger with a steel plate where the bar is welded to it. The shock support is welded to the bar and the front end of the bar is welded to the top of the frame. It is a very strong installation which has stood up to many years of abuse. When you install your cage you can replace it with a normal snout bar.
