Hey guys....I need to look deeper, but I think it's time to replace the heater core in our Scamp. I replaced it for safety's sake when I restored the car but I'm finding a little coolant on the passenger footwell. In the past, I found a loose heater hose clamp was that thought to be the problem and the issue stopped with a new clamp. So...I will look at that first....but....

...the A/C still has R12 and works great. I'd rather not take all that apart to fix the heater core. (As well as all the other stuff that I'll have to disturb to remove the heater box) So...does anyone know if the core can be pulled without removing the entire heater box?

A friend removed his 72 Scamp core without pulling the entire unit. Look in the service manual to see what it says.

Thanks for the help! I looked at my service book and it looks like the heater box is separate from the evaporator. Going to look at it in the car and get some parts ordered...
