What is the typical width of the gap between the bottom of the door and the edge of the rocker panel.
My first fit has appx 1/2" gap and I still need to raise the door about 1/16"

Sorry no pic

Which side? My drivers side gap is excellent, passenger side , not-so-much. Car's never been in an accident & I know that as I stripped & repainted twice! Factory rocker on pass side just is not straight. The gap is fine front/back & upper break line but the rocker was rolled incorrectly & is almost a 1/2" gap in the front and about 1/4" in the back. I guess it's not that big a deal because no one's ever noticed it, but me. I thought about welding in additional metal but said nah, that's the way it came.

The factory gaps on most Mopars and may other car back in the day was all over the place. The gap at the bottom of the door to rocker on my Charger was huge from the factory. A body man could spend a ton of time fitting/welding/grindin those gaps on orig, never hit cars from the 70s just to get them to look good enough.

Thanks guys, kind of what I thought. It is the driver side. Looks consistent front to back until you get to about 2" from the corner at the door post, then it "ski jumps" up due to the lead filler at the joint to where it is about 3/16".
The guy helping me wants to add some metal to even it out and close it up, I think I'll wait to see how it looks with the fender on to decide.

My 67 coronet has a huge gap at the bottom of both doors.. All you can do is line up the top, and the back of the door, and try to do the best with aligning the front fender to the fender/door gap...

If it's of interest to anyone, I have a 70 gtx and 70 rr assembled the same day in september (126401 & 126344)at Lynch Rd and they both have driver's quarter panel fitment issues with no evidence of collision damage.
