My daughter went 4 rounds at the high school drags in the Duster.
Never been down the track, never done a burn out, and she broke out cuz dad didn't change her dial and she broke out.
Here is a vid of the both of us racing for the first time at a test and tune.
pretty fun and Yes my car ran like crap!

I'm glad you both enjoy the same sport up Neither one of my kids would get in the drivers seats of any of my drag cars whiney My daughters youngest son, now 22 yrs old , loves fast cars so maybe he might be a option in the future luck None of the other five grandkids show any interests in racing cars, let alone drag cars shruggy

Thank-you for taking the time and effort to make the sport of drag racing interesting to your Sons and Daughters. My Son is 10 times the driver I will ever be. I enjoy our times together at the track.

My son could care less about cars... he is in the medical
field and loves the electronic music.. he does the mixing thing..
I was into music but it cut into my racing and cars...
myself I like building things
EDIT
Hell.. even when I was into music and being
left handed I built my own guitar.. it was some
piece of junk that was in a trash can.. it was
just a acoustic that was literally falling apart..
I took it completely apart and started from scratch
and made it for me(left handed) and put in the electronic
pick ups.. after I finished it up it had great action
(angle of the neck) and it sounded great
wave

Do you want to adopt anyone? Lol.
My dad is not into drag racing at all. Studebakers and he used to run pro solos with the sports car club. Spent a bunch of time around rallys. I don't know where I got my interest, but I'm trying to get my daughter into racing. No luck so far... My girlfriend's daughter, well there is potential there. 9 and always trying to identify cars. She's expressed interest in Jr. Dragsters, too.

Awesome! Glad you are guiding her in the right direction - doing it at the track and not the street.

Yeah she is hooked, the second run in test and tune she pulled off to the side of the staging lanes and took it upon herself to ask the track guys to line us up again. That race I red lit and she cut a .000 light. Beginners luck? dunno but I am proud to have her carry on the the Mopar legacy even though I don't get my car out as much as I would like. Thanks for the kind words

well we had a pair of quads that we could leave the house on to ride in the desert. After that I really can't see my daughter wheeling a racecar.

Curious, what "car control" training do you guys teach your kids before turning them loose on the track the first time? As much as I like my cars, I can't think of anything more important to me then my kids, and every time I send my kids out, a lot of thoughts cross my mind if I was thorough enough.

Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

Keystone Raceway Park is very good at getting the kids into racing. In this class ( TCR )kids race full-size cars after passing a test and being checked out and approved by track officials.

Cars Protection Plus Teen Championship Racing (TCR) Class: This is a great entry level class, where kids 13-17 can race a street legal vehicle, 10.00 seconds and slower (1/8th mile). The kids make license passes with a track official, and race with a parent or guardian in the car, who drives the car in the pits. Please let us know if your child would be interested in joining the class.

When I finally get the Ramcharger done, I probably will not be the one that races it. So I am doing everything that I can to make it super safe, with good tires, brakes, all the running gear and the transmission will be as bulletproof as I can make it. My grandson recently got his license and is interested. Maybe they will see each other at Pacific.
