So this means that a ring and pinion were NOT manufactured as a matched set and the pinion depth number was a result of fitting the two parts together? Does this then mean that someone could take any ring gear and any pinion (of the same ratio obviously) and use them as a pair by checking the pattern with gear marking paste? "We live in a time when intelligent people are being silenced so that stupid people won't be offended".
