I was just wondering what you thought about aluminum fuel line. Is it safe to use on a street car will it not get damaged easy from rocks or gravel.

went with steel on my car. Sux bending! kinked first time around after fixing it wish I would have just spent the cash on steel braided and been done with it. Dont half a$$ something that could potentially start you on fire!!!

I've used aluminum on several that did alot of gravel road travel & no dents. You'd think there'd be alot of stuff flying around down there that sooner or later would contact the line but all good.

I run aluminum on several street and strip applications. Basically anytime I am redoing fuel lines.

There is nothing half a$$ed about it. It is easy to work with, passes tech, and is safe.

I've used it without any problems and it sure is easier to bend than steel and a lot less expensive than braided line. Just rout it carefully and secure it with rubber lined clamps. Also where it passes through the crossmember I like to take a piece of old heater hose and wrap it around the line to protect it from chaffing. You can use wire ties to secure the heater hose to the fuel line. Works for me.

Another vote for aluminum. No problems on either of my cars using it. Both use the Moroso 1/2" stuff, with Earl's Super Stock "rubber" where movement might occur. Aluminum is way lighter than braided stainles, doesn't abrade whatever it comes in contact with, is easy to bend & work with, and is easier to run in long lengths.

3/8 aluminum on my 63. I bought the 20 ft roll from Mancini and borrowed my buddies pipe bender to make the line in the stock location. Ron

I've heard that aluminum fuel line CAN vibrate and crack. Is this true, and if so, why risk it?

Cheap low quality Aluminum will.

Make sure you get a good name brand.

I ran stainless for my fuel system "hard as hell to bend"

I hav ran Aluminum in a few customer cars with no problems .

If you have any doubt just get mild steel.

I dealt with the potential vibration problem by using "adel" clamps every foot or so.

If you are concerned with stuff hitting the alum line, get some pipe insulation from HD or lowes.

Won't stop boulders from killing the line, but, will help the small stuff

I have used the aluminum fuel since the 70's and have never had any crack. I do mount it in the stock clamps along the rocker panel as you can make them fit. That helps keep it from vibrating. Ron
