I just bought an American Tonneau Tri-Fold cover for my 14 Ram. Installation was a piece of cake. The cover looks decent except for one thing...the "logo". The logo is a piece of colored rubber(red/white/blue) that is glued and sewn onto the back lip of the tonneau. If it was just glued, I would remove it. But since it's sewn on, it looks like it's there to stay.

My Ram is a black edition so everything is blacked out. The tonneau logo sticks out like a sore thumb. So, any ideas on how I could possibly dye the rubber? Color it with a black Sharpie? I know this is a very minor complaint but I've always hated the look of company logos on aftermarket products.

Do you think you might be able to sand the colors off the tag and it be black under them? If not then I would hit it with some black model car paint.

I'll have to look closer at the material but I think it's molded in color.

I had another idea that might work better then coloring the logo. Last year I made a trophy out of 5.7 Hemi engine parts. I had a trophy shop make me an etched aluminum label for the base. It only cost $5. I could have them make me something similar. Grind the rubber logo flat and affix the aluminum plate over the top. I could have the etching say "Black Edition". That might look nice. I might even be able to completely remove the logo and "hide" the wonky stitching with the plate.
