I'm looking to repair the chrome bezel mounting tab.Is this trim pot metal or aluminum. Its not magnetic. I know I'll have to remove the chrome first. How have you done it?

Is it the tab that takes the screw into the grille surround or the tab that rivets takes the river between the chrome/pot metal insert and the stamped aluminum surround?

The insert directly around the headlight is pot metal. It's chromed and rivited to the bright dipped stamped aluminum surround.

I'd try to find a smashed bezel with same condition chrome insert. IIRC, it's held in two other places/tabs.

If it's the tab that takes the rivet between the chrome and the aluminum, it's in there pretty good with even the other 2 remaining tabs. So you might just try to JB Weld it to the aluminum surround after you've done any resto work to it and after re-reviting the surrounds.
