Does anyone how to get the round SE emblems off the vinyl roof of a 73 charger without breaking them?

1973 Dodge Charger SE 400 automatic transmission. Curb weight: 3800 lbs. All stock so far. Goal: Reliable everday driveable warmed up 400 as close to 400hp as possible, then a 470 stroker if need be. Don't protect a feminist when the collapse comes!

You probably need to access it from the inside by getting behind the headliner.

Is it a lot of work to remove the headliner? The interior is in good condition so I'd like to not mess with it too much. Does the emblem have "legs" that go in and grabs a hole? I was thinking about just nipping those off with a plier then glue the logo on later.

It requires you remove the door sill, the rear seat and the interior panel. Then if there is a sail panel you can remove that get behind the emblem. If there is no sail panel then you just need to unfasten the headliner from the grippers so you can get back there.

The emblem probably has 2 spring fingers and a locating pin. You need to press the fingers together and push the emblem out. You need to hold on to the emblem or have some one else hold it so it doesn't drop.

Later SE emblems had a single screw in the center

So you can't cut it off from the outside?
