A buddy of mine just bought a 51 DeSoto with a flathead engine and he wants to put an automatic trans on it. He has a 904 and wants to know how to mate it to the flathead. Any help would be appreciated! wave

has your friend really examined the flathead---there may already be a 1/2 inch thick plate on it---i have saved up 3 early poly adapter plates which are little thinner than the new ones you see for a hemi (331-392) they are all using the small block pattern to the block....bob

Thanks Kevin.

More details here: http://www.qualityengineeredcomponents.com/?page_id=222
and in the web pages.

Recall that the L6 mounts the rear of the engine at/on the bell so when you lose the bell you will be doing some fab work.
There are only TWO adapters left in inventory and I have not yet decided if I will make any more...simply low/no demand for the TF swap.

There is also the ability to use the old PowerFlite as they were oem with the late 50's L6 .

Call if you have questions.

Gary
