After the sad passing of Kevin Christner (Kev_73_Missile), I pm'd Tom about doing some sort of memorial list here on Moparts for members we have lost so they'll always have a place here.

He suggested starting a thread here to get all the necessary info then he will move it to the Best Of Moparts section to immortalize it since we get new members all the time.

Here are the ones I can recall we've lost:

Archie - Harris W. "Archie" Hendrickson 2002

Back_N_Black - Chris "Zimmy" Zimmerman 09/28/08

cudax4 - Don Rae November 06
Daniel_Banker - Daniel Banker 10/7/08

Dave Seward - more info needed

Great Lakes NOS - Ron Adair 2008

HEMI71GTX - Rick Falk April 05

Kev_73_Missile - Kevin Christner ~01/13/09

Mike_Gibbons - Raymond Mike Gibbons 06/22/08

Mopar Scott - Scott Rowe 2002

mrnobodyracer - Mike O'Malley

Prowler - DJ (David) Vargus 5/18/08

Supercharger - Al Loftis ~12/22/07

Unlawfl - Gary Davis 5/13/04

Who have I forgotten and what info or suggestions can anyone add? PM with any information that can be added.

Thank you.

To add to your list..

Back-in-black... can't recall his name either?

There was a few more, but my memory can't picture them right at the moment either

How about the member who started the (SS/AA now SS/AH) thread.

Mike O'Malley? ( Not sure but I remember he had a Irish last name?)

Never met him and I apologize I can't remember if the name is correct but he seemed like a good guy and really kept everyone up to date.

Miss the love and excitement he had for the Hemi A Cars

AL (Supercharger) was right as christmas last year, as already confirmed. I was shocked when I heard, because no more than just a few days earlier, he sent me a PM that said he recieved his moparts secret santa gift, and had sent his out.

To think--someone opened a gift on christmas day from a man who just passed away.

(I know who it was, but I wont share it, incase that person never found out who his gift came from--remember, SECRET santa is supposed t obe SECRET!)

Did he have a white 70 GTX with black top, interior, and gold side stripes? He had lung cancer, I've been trying to remember his name. Seems like it was probably as long as 5 years ago now.

Paul, I believe his GTX was like that.

My word, 5 years? Time sure flies by fast. But its shameful that I cannot recall his name. Sure would like to add him to the list.

Wow, I never knew he passed. I was thinking about him the other day wondering why he hadnt been around fabo.

Last I knew he had started driving a truck cross country I believe and was enjoying.

Sad to hear.

I think about 4 years ago? I knew Don from years in the Mopars Unlimited Seattle Chapter club. Great guy. Loud, boisterous, but with a postive outlook and he LOVED mopars. His brother is now trying to sell the barracuda (I am pretty sure its the magazine car) that had a 380hp 360 crate in it and ran solid twelves on street rubber as I recall. I can get info anyone's interested. He served as president of the club and did a GREAT job.
RIP Don!

Seems more like 1 1/2 to 2 years ago.

They've had the show at the XXX for 2 years now. The year before it was at the college and he was there. I'm sure.

'08 - '07 - then in '06 he was there, I'm sure.

Did a search I could not find the info. Man that sucks!! I went to a party he had during one of the MATS, he was a great host and sure dug his moparts!!

RIP prowler

Diego

Wow, I did not hear about this. He bought a T/A that I used to own. We talked on the phone several times and then when I was in Vegas I stopped by for a visit & he gave me the keys to the prowler & I took it for a spin. Seemed like a super great guy. He had a lot of cool Mopars over the years! RIP DJ

Don flew down to Springfling in 06. I had my Dart there Since I was doing the swap meet and the Show Don drove the Dart for me. I'll never forget the big grin he had when he drove it into the show. The last time I talked with him was just before his passing. I was trying to locate his 66 cuda that he had to sell when he got laid off fromk Boeing. Unfortunately Don passed and never was able to locate the car.

Does anyone know what happened to the cars? I hope they stayed in the family, but not all family members share the same love for the hobby and lots of people watch BJ Auctions...

...I hope they stayed in the families.

'UNLAWFL' stayed with Officer Davis's family. Don't know about any of the other cars.

not sure if he was member here::

FYI, Tuesday Steve Walls of Yorktown and more recently Hartford City, Indiana was killed in a freak accident, the only reason I'm posting it is Steve was a BIG Mopar guy. Not sure if any of you knew or dealt with Steve. I know his job took him all over the midwest and Steve was always looking for old Mopars and parts. Steve was a great guy and will be missed. His obituary is: http://www.thestarpress.com/article/20090130/OBITUARIES/901300330/1023The article about the accident is:http://www.wabashplaindealer.com/articles/2009/01/29/local_news/local1.txtSorry if this is off topic.ThanksChad

Sorry, but this is a real morbid thread. How about all the members who weren't as popular or widely known and were left off this 'list'?? Let's look on the bright side. Let's celebrate all the members who make this site what it is:; the best.

Did he have a white 70 GTX with black top, interior, and gold side stripes? He had lung cancer, I've been trying to remember his name. Seems like it was probably as long as 5 years ago now.

I remember the '70 GTX- white w/gold stripes and black top. I believe that guy's name is Doug Dufour(sp?) Yes, it has been awhile since he passed.

A couple friends of mine died in an accident, coming from a junkyard run, I'm thinking maybe '02? It was in Columbus Ohio.

MoparScott was one's username, he was on here and Mo par Style mostly. He raced a brown 79 LeBaron. The other one was known as "Archie" as he looked like Archie (the cartoon one).

He (Archie) gave me the name "Magnumguy"

RIP guys.

Mike was a cool guy, met him at the central MI divisional race. He did an awesome job on his coverage of those cars. MRNOBODYRACER

everytime I read the SS/AH thread I think of Mike. He came by to talk at the Mid Mich divisional and was a great guy. He did love the AH cars. I still have a PM saved from him of one of our conversations.

Wow. I did not know that Daniel Banker died. Talk to him many times over the phone. I sold him an NOS part for his pink car and talk to him when I found a hemi car that was supposed to have a shaker on it. This was less than 6 months ago when we last spoke. What happened to Daniel?

He is still shown as a member here. Mike was a good friend, but I didn't know any of his family. He had a fantastic shop loaded with projects, and I always met up with him there. I never went to his house, and only met his wife for about 10 minuets one afternoon at the shop.

The last time I spoke with him he was in California on business, but wanted to get together when he got back to Houston. I never heard from him again.

I wish I knew his family better. I never found out how he died. I just heard about it from another Mopar guy here in town. I figured Mike was traveling and would check in when he came back into town. My son still plays with a Max Wedge Diecast Mike gave him 3 years ago. He has worn some of the paint off of it.

He died on 22 June 2008.

Thanks for the good times Mike. We miss you.

-Dave

Dave Seward, the guy who reproduced the Challenger taillight bezels in billet died this past summer.
What was his business name? D&D maybe.
Another great guy.

Did not know Mike had died. Another super nice guy on the board. I had noticed he wasn't around a whole lot but would pop in on occasion. You don't think about people dying- just being busy with life, family, and/or projects. R.I.P., Mike.
