69 B body Hemi cars did they come with self adjusting 11 inch rear brakes on an eight and three quarter rear end.

Trying to get brakes done and bought hardware kit from napa. Lower spring isn't right. To short. Said needed auto adjusting hardware kit n they said oh we need to look newer years. So got me thinking maybe they didn't come with them. Anyone have good pic of an 11 inch auto adjusting set up to show them?

It depends on the brakes. 11x3 rear drums did NOT have self-adjusters. Don't remember about the fronts if they are 11x3.

That looks absolutely correct to me I don't think Ma Mopar sold any standard productions cars(Not the 1965 A99 drag cars or the 1968 Hurst Hemi Darts or Cuda ) from either 1962 or maybe 1961 that didn't have self adjusting drum brakes on them from the factory regardless of the brake sizes

I know that 67 GTX and R/T had manual adjust 11" drum brakes on all corners. 1970 GTX and Challenger R/T had self adjusting 11" drum brakes.

Question is when did they change over?

1962 and older center plane 12" drum brakes were all manual adjust. Chrysler 300, New Yorker, etc.

I say this with certainty, I own all of these cars today.

Had a couple 68's here with manual adjust from factory. The adjusters had the easy to grab stars with the lesser tooth count.

Working on a 1963 Plymouth Savoy with factory installed 13.5 comp max wedge and manual trans. It came equipped with 10" brakes with adjusters on all 4 corners. I see that 11" drums were avaiable for police/taxi use, but not on a Maxie, strange?

Yes and they can be turned either direction with the same effort and no locking when backing off.

My 70 service manual lists a few brakes that did not have self adjusters.

My brother had a 69 Charger R/T back in the day and it had manual adjust 11" brakes all 4 corners

The rear in my 65 came from a 69 R/T.Bought it in like 71 or so and had all OE brakes.They are non self adjusters.Seems it was hit or miss as a buddy had a 69 GTX with Dana he bougt new it was non self adjust also.Rocky

1969 A12 cars had manual adjusters

They absolutely did. 1969 C-body 11x3 drums on all corners (also known as police/taxi brakes AND used on many B-bodies). My old '69 Polara wagon had them. I have also seen or heard of many others with these brakes.

I know to never ASS U ME anything on cars, especailly on our beloved Mopars. I had one early 1966/67 dana 60 with eleven inch brakes with self adjsuters on it so I assumed that all of the Dana 60 with eleven inch brrakes had them

My '68 Hemi roadrunner is manual adjust on all four corners. From what I recall, I switched it to self adjusting back in the late 80s.

The 11x3" drum brakes did not get self adjusters till 1970.
If you order a 1970 spring and adjuster kit, you can retrofit the adjusters to the older brakes.
