How do you like it ? I bought an FiTech setup and don't want to put the surge tank under the hood, space is tight in a big block A body .

I'm looking at them , I just wish they weren't powdercoated. I have a good idea why they are but it would be nice if they had an option to delete that. I'm going to call and see if I can get it without the powdercoat.

running up my post count some more .

I installed one a few weeks ago. I like the tank itself. I like the Warbro fuel injection pump. I like the baffling. Seems to make it down to around a gallon before the pump starts to cavitate on curves. The sender unit is the only thing I am disappointed in. It is calibrated for Furds. Mopar is 10 ohms full to 80 ohms empty. The Tanks unit is 20 ohms to 70 ohms in my installation. Close but no cigar. Full tank registers as 5/8, empty slightly above empty. Since after market senders for Spectra tanks seem to be about the same quality, it does not bother me. I am installing a Technometer adaptor to fix that.
Only hitch I had in the installation was in the venting and a leak. I had bypassed the vapor separator and mounted the vent too low. A full tank of gas expanded enough to blow off the vent tubing and relieved itself in the parking lot. Since the vapor separator was up higher, I put it back into use, problem solved. The leak was a bad 6AN fitting installation on a hose that seeped enough at 50psi to drip a puddle of gas on the ground. Had to drop the tank and replace the hose.
When I have the total package installed and working, I will do a more detailed write up on the whole package.
BTW, the powder coating did not bother me, it looks a lot better than the original equipment tank it replaced.

Thanks Craig , how much is that adapter to fix the fuel gauge ?

I assume they removed the provision to keep the stock fuel sending unit ?

John, you might want to do a search of the forums for the past two months. Another member bought the tank and was complaining that he couldn't fit the higher volume pump (from Tanks !!) through the opening. Had to butcher the tank to make it fit. If the standard pump works for your application then I guess you're golden!

Keep us posted ... I'd like to know how that FItech unit as well as everything else performs.

Thanks Stanton I'll check that out.

I bought the 600HP FiTech unit so I'll need the bigger fuel supply.

There is no way to mount the stock unit. As for the pump, I had no problem getting the pump installed. It delivers 45 GPH at 48psi.
The exact module for the gas gauge is a MeterMatch from Technoversions. It is 44.95 plus shipping. If you have the old mechanical style switching regulator still in your dash, you will have to use the MeterMatch-VR as the power source has too much switching noise to accurately activate the gas gauge.
With the tank empty, you set the "E" reading. Then you fill it and set the "F" where you want it. lYou can also set two other readings, presumably 1/4 and 3/4 to make it accurate through the range. On the non-voltage regulated unit, you can also hook up an LED for low fuel.

Installed in 72 challenger with a couple of minor over thought out issues. I didn't use the vents, but did use the 70filler neck with venting. I did have a small leak at the supply fitting just make sure you tighten the NPT fittings. I confirmed the sending unit using a multimeter several times and works way better than the aftermarket stock units. Once all the details were worked out the tank performs flawless. I reccomend this unit, although I had the best solution for venting in the challenger. Tanks provide two 5/16 nipples which I could not find a place high to mount their safety valve. Once I decided to change the filler tube problem solved. I capped nipples with small sections of FI rated hose clamps, bolts and indian head shellac.

Oh yeah I would keep powder coat the unit looks awesome and pump is nice and quiet.

that is what I would do (call em) & see if they will accomodate your request (assuming the other posted fitment prob dont kill the deal).
