You ever get up to US60 dragway?

What track do you race at Justin? The wife and I are looking at relocating to KY this summer/fall. Bowling Green area most likely.

My local track had a grudge night tonight, the afternoon was off a pro tree. No times on the boards but each car got it's half of the slip. Later no tree or slip, just a flash light flag. For $15 I figured it would be a good time to see if it was still popping.

The wife went with me and we drove instead of trailering so I didn't have any tools or carb stuff with me. All the passes but one was just like I drove it, on one pass I removed the air cleaner. New 325 radials. I suspect my digital 6 has been my problem. Following Dwayne's advice I set the limiter to 0 on both dials.

The first pass it spun and as soon as it went into high gear it fell down like I shut it off. When I let off it idled and ran fine back to the pits.

The second pass I had loosened the Rancho's from 7 to 5. Leaving I just rolled into the throttle, it left with out spinning but did the same thing when it went to high gear.

Back in the pits I set the limiter to 9000 and removed the air cleaner. It left hard and felt good. I didn't get a slip as there was problem with the clocks.

I put the air cleaner back on when I got back to the pits. One of the track guys came by and said there was a turbo Mustang that wanted to run me. Ok, lets do it! I left on him and never saw him until we were slowing down. It ran 6.61 @ 104.48. My shift light was set at 6000, everytime I tried re-set it went back to 6000. I actually short shifted 2-3 at about 5800.

Things are getting better, so back to the lanes. This time I set the LM-2 to record and am more focused. Left at 2400, 1-2 @ 6610, 2-3 @ 6450. It ran 6.522 @ 106.2 with a 1.45 60'. Not what I'm looking for but getting better.

In the pits again letting it cool off a little the track guy comes back with another guy in tow. He want's a race, ratty looking LS Mustang. Ok, then asks how much? I'm not playing his game so I tell him no $$ and he's ok. When we get to the lanes and are waiting I look over and he's turning on his bottle, I should've ask for the move LOL. I get out on him when we leave but he comes by me right at the stripe, crap! It ran 6.504 @ 106.67 with a 1.43 60'. The 1-2 shift @ 6680, the 2-3 @ 7260. After I got it parked I walked to the guy I just raced pits but he wasn't there but his buddy was. Turns out this guy does a lot of grudge racing and makes pretty good money at it. Good thing I followed my gut feeling that I was being hustled.

It starting getting cool and the wife was cold so we left. All in all it was a good night. Made a few changes and the car responded so there is hope for more. It was a little lean on the two pass I recorded, 13.2-13.6 on both passes. I'm thinking it'll run low 40's to high 30's sorted out. It made the drive with out a hick up, never got over 165° on the way and just touched 160° on the way home.
