So am I missing any odd pattern tops? I'm not so much worried about the correct years or models. Just the top types.

Blue Mod Top - 1969 Satellite and 1970 Cuda
Yellow Mod Top - 1969 and 1970 Cuda
Green Floral Top - 1969 Dart and Coronet

Tortoise Grain - 1969 C-bodies
Gator Grain - various 1970 models
Green Gator Grain - 1974ish Charger and Coronet
Reptile Grain - mid 70s Gold Dusters

Walnut Pattern/Paisley - 1970-71 Gran Fury
Aztec Grain - 1972ish Newport Cordoba

Also the 1971 Imperial had a maroon vinyl top that quickly faded to show the bizarre patterned base they used for the top, but it wasn't supposed to do that.

I also know about the Silver Special tops (1967ish Satellite), but they were just a different color not a unique top, weren't they.

So have I missed any?

That's just what they called the regular vinyl top grain.

It was in the late 1980's - 1970 b'cuda with a Houndstooth top like the cloth interior, with the houndstooth interior...and I am not kidding. However I am not sure if it was factory or aftermarket. Tops seams, moldings etc were correct, hood was closed I have a pic somewhere but right now I can't find it.

Ford and Mercury used Houndstooth vinyl tops on their pony cars. Never heard of any Cuda ones. Hope you can find the pic Tom.

Yes, that's what I was referring to as Reptile Grain. I took the name from the factory ads I have for the Gold Duster.

Hi,

the tortoise grain was still available in 1970 on Chrysler models.

A friend has a 72 coronet which has a gatorroof (V1G) in green but the pattern is not the 1970 gator grain, it is more like the 69/70 tortoise version but green instead of brownish.

Someone on another site mentioned one a while back that one of his pals had one, if he ever posted a photo I missed it. Had to be aftermarket, but it would still be cool to see.

.....Rumors,...and some stuff over the years from various individuals, nothing "close" or "correct" in the eyes of some,......Would be nice if Legendary was gearing up for some of the ModTop colors,....but the market is extremely small for such a venture,...it would take some bankrolling from an individual seeking Blue Mod, for Legendary/SMS/etc,etc, to produce such a product IMHO

That emblem is correct but completely faded like most became from sitting outside. Here's a picture of a nice original in the correct shading/colors.

BTW, I would give my buddies left nut for some blue/green material for my modtop. Unfortunately I haven't had any luck finding it. I wonder how much it would take to invest into having some made?

Several individuals looking for Blue Mod, for some high end restos......as far as tooling /investiing for production with an established vendor,......say 5 fiqures, depending on the min volume of the run needed

Included a unique interior and other things like hideaways for the charger. Not for everyone but heres the gator roof of my Topper X

The Aztec was for the 1970 Newport Cordoba model. This also included same pattern in the door panels, in the body side molding and it had a huge (flat) hood ornament. Somewhere I have pics . . .

Light green car. Green Gator vinyl roof. White seats with green inserts.

About 15 years ago, a buddy had several rolls of original blue/green Mod material - his dad acquired it from Chrysler when he worked there as a security guard - they were throwing it away. He finally decided to sell it all & it all went to somebody - I don't remember if he sold it to Legendary. There was probably enough for 4-5 tops. I still have a piece of it that I will frame. I'd like to get an emblem to go with it.

I have a large roll of the silver/black Boar grain material, but there seems to be no interest in it.
