do you think a 4.10 would do better than 3 tenths faster in the quarter than a 3.54? won't the street kill you buzzing an engine at cruise with a 4.10 gear? Not to mention the heat up.

I'll give you bump, cause I'd like to know also. Thinking of making the switch just because that's what I have. 3.73 would be my 1st choice.

I dont know the difference in ET but the difference in acceleration will be phenominal. Highway driving will suck the enjoyment out of driving though. In my Challenger with 4.10s Id always bump the megashifter thinking I had another gear. (Engine buzzing like crazy @ 65mph in 3rd)

Keep old mopars alive.

It may be possible to get 3 tenths depending on the combo you are running. It is also possible it will slow down..
The quickest way to check it out is to swap tire diameter and check your times. The small difference in gear ratios can be simulated with different tire diameters.

i think a Passon Hemi overdrive trans will cure all of your problems with a 4.10.

That's a $4k solution, I'll try the 4.10, then probably switch if it's too bad.

The last time I checked you could buy the gear set for $1700. + shipping. It will fit right in your existing 23 spline 833 Mopar 4 speed case. With labor and clutch disc change you should be able to do it for around $2500.

THREE TENTHS!!!!!! It better be good for more than that!!!!

It's been a looooooonnnnngggg time since I've strapped on a musclecar, but I remember "back in the day" that my heavy old '70RR with it's hundreds of pounds of tools in the back, etc, and I came across someone with 4x rear gear, the outcome (with my 3.54's) was not good. Not good at all

Alot of it will depend on the combo.

I switched from 410's to 373's.
I also gained 100 pounds(the car not me) and went exactly 1 tenth slower.

That tenth acounts for the weight, but not the gear.

A stocker big block with 3.54's in a ligher car, may slow down with 410's instead of pick up.

what's your rpm thru the traps right now? 3 tenths is a lot for a small spread in rear gear ratio. one tenth is probably more realistic. I have 3.54's in my kuda and use it more on the street to justify a swap over to 4.10's.
