Hey guy's, I was wondering if anyone restores the quarter window assembly on a two door sedan post car. I pulled mine out of my Superbee and it looks like a job for a more experienced person other than me. I bought the windows and weatherstripping it's just I'm not sure how to tackle it. Thanks, Dave

Dave - They are a bit of a project and by the time you are done will be several hundred dollars in parts other than the glass.

The rear hasp is reproduced. The front weatherstrip on the vent window is available as well. The big trick is the hollow core rivets that hold it all together. This requires a special apparatus to replace them. A group of friends and I all pitched in to buy it, but I don't recall the exact name or price.

Not sure if this is of any help.

Well Big D they are called semi-tubular rivets and we have about $400.00 invested in the press and dies for the different rivet sizes, and it was worth it because your quarter windows turned out very nice!! Dave I would be able to take your restored window components and do the assembly on them for a small fee, if you are interested PM me here and I will get back to you.

In the book we wrote that is available on Amazon we step by step show you how to completely restore these. Including not having to use the hollow rivets.

Thanks for the info guy's, I started disassemblng the drivers side and everything seems to be in really good shape. I cleaned up the frame, rubbed
out the stainless. I should be able to locate the 1/8" x 9/16 semi tubular rivet somewhere. I have a friend that restores Mopar's and he has the tool to do the rivet on the frame all I need are new sliders, and the foam that goes on top of the frame and not sure what kind of adhesive/sealant I will need to fill in and bond the frame to the body. Big D, I google that part number and it shows it for a hardtop and not a 2 door sedan with post and flip out windows. I don't need the latch assembly because i had mine re-chromed a while back but I could use 2 new rubber washers and screws that goes in the window for the handle! Thanks again, Dave

Wow, It's a good thing I read the section on the installation of the window assembly. I wasn't too sure if the foam seal went on just the top of the assembly, it goes from the front bottom all the way around to the back corner near the rear mounting hole. It's coming together nicely just waiting on my rivets and tool to started assembling. Thanks, Dave

This piece is the same for the front edge of hardtop and post front door windows. It is also correct for the front edge of the rear post vent windows. It is the weather strip the glass pivots in.

I noticed that you were correct after I replied back to you. I have decided to reuse mine they are not cracked but some of the black felt has pulled off otherwise still good to save than to but a new strip. Thanks, Dave

Can someone tell me how thick and how wide the foam stripping that goes around the frame should be?
Thanks, Dave
