I dunno, if no one else knows, maybe you can borrow a BB truck pan from someone local to you to find out?

If no one chimes in, I have a pan around here that I can measure from the pan rail down to the floor of the pan. I would think that the pick up would be the clearance problem. Beep

Sorry forgot to mention
I'm not going to use the pick up or the dipstick
my plan is to modify the steel pan to a dry sump pan by welding in -12 AN bungs and possibly save $300

I'm gonna use a rear sump since it'll clear an AlterKation but just not sure if it'll clear my 4.5 stroke

thanks

maybe go with a dragster style pan and gain some ground clearance. I think there 5" deep in the rear.

I was just gonna cut down the sump to about 2.5" since AN -12 female bungs are 2" dia.

440 Source has used ones part number 100-1064

I should be fine with a 4.5 stroke since I'm not going to use the oil pickup
I'll post pics when I get one and modify it for dry sump

Why not just get a proper dry sump type pan??? Plenty of HP can be found in the right oil pan.

I can easily add baffles for oil control and combined with a crank scraper and with the bungs welded in the right postion, I'm guessing it will function just as good as a fancy fabricated pan

also I'll feel better with the strength of steel vs. aluminum under a street car driving over potholes and what not

finally I'll only spend about $100 bucks into the experiment and if it all goes wrong, I'll get a proper dry sump pan
