Thought i would post this. I just got this from Jay at cantstealit.com
I am very impressed.. unit is super strong, sturdy..and should keep the trailer from going anywhere.....
goes on in less than a minute...locks the tire,,and has a cover for the lugs,,
After reading about all the rigs,,,trailers,,getting stolen,,i decided to get one.
I will be bringing this as well,,,when i go out of town to some events,,,and have to stay at the local hotels,,,so the truck and trailer dont "walk" away.......

Jay was great

I have a Brutus and it goes on whenever the trailer is out of my sight, even for a few minutes.Sure mine was $300, but considering the alternative it's nothing...

That is the real deal. Is it for 16" wheels? I seem to remember most are for 15", and the ones that are for bigger wheels, get pretty spendy, real quick. But, as was posted, the cost is really nothing, compared to the trailer and contents. Freakin' thieves.

Leigh,,,Jay sells a few boots,,,,the one i bought is for a 14 and 15" tire,,,,(max of 225/75/15) ... this was the "standard" size.

He sells a larger boot as well,,,,

It was a bit pricey,,but well worth it to me...if the trailer wont move anywhere....highly recomend it...

I think Jay became a dealer for them after he had a trailer disappear a few years ago. He and his wife are good people.

Looks like a pretty secure way to thwart off the thieves. I may have to look into one of those

I could get that off pretty quick It's really just a version of the municipal boot used by some cities. The thing that makes them work is that they have your license plate number and if you cut it off they make you pay for it in addition to fines. I suppose it could make the thieves move onto the next target, like an alarm does, but not if they want YOUR trailer. I use a homemade tongue lock and always try to block it in with a car or truck for extra insurance.

Make sure you always put it on the rear wheel. If its on the front wheel a wheel lift tow truck can lift the tongue high enough that it lifts the front wheel off the ground.

I had the one from "can't steal it" also. Thieves can steal anything but I felt better having the wheel boot on. It was also a selling feature when I sold the trailer.

Another thing about trailer security, I try to NEVER take the whole rig to a hotel. If you do, or if you attend a weekend long event..... ALWAYS separate your truck from your trailer, use your tongue lock and your wheel boot, and block your trailer with another vehicle whenever possible.

Looks good.

I got to say this, Only fools leave their trailers overnite at hotels.
You must plan your trip so your at the track early enough to drop off the trailer before going to the motel, no exceptions. I'll sleep at a rest area with the trailer attached to my truck if I can't get there in one day.
I've been all over the country with a race trailer sometimes being gone for two weeks at a time and know three people who have had their trailer stolen that we raced with.

IMO only fools leave their trailers at motels.

Thanks guys,,,,,,
I suppose if they want my trailer that bad,,,they can get it,,,,
I know it would take a while,,or some noise to try and cut that boot off......my hope is that they'll move along to something else....
good tip on putting it on the rear tire of the trailer,,that is what i did....
I also have a 1)tongue and 2) hitch lock,,,and run a 3) cable thru the rims,,,and now the boot

As far as leaving it at a hotel.....every trailer/truck i have heard of that was stolen,,,did NOT have any type of "theft" deterent on the trailer, ,,eg a boot,,etc,,,again,,if they want it,,,they'll get it,,,
