Here's reviving a old thread. I have been researching this color as my car has it, I think. It is paint code 99 99. It has a build date of Nov 21 which I believe is in 1968 making it a fairly early car and certainly not in the spring where I live! This is the only pic I have access to right now but the sequence number under the bolt is 123417. This would make me think sp stood for special not spring. But I'm still learning about it. I am trying to add a link to photobucket but I'm not very good at this stuff!

I've been tracking 1969 99 paint cars.

Beginning in October and through December, it appears there was a sizeable number of green and orange Road Runners built at the LA plant.

99 'Green' was not a 'spring only' release. Cars in that color are found in the fall of '68.

Given the small production at the LA plant, 99 paint Road Runners, as a percentage of cars produced, seems to run much higher than the Lynch Road or ST. Louis Plant.

"Spring Special" (or A14) is not point in time. It's an option on '69 Road Runners. Was a fairly rare option depending on hard top or post cars.

I have uncovered information pertaining to when Rallye Green and Bahama Yellow were first offered on the Road Runner model. It will be in my book which comes out in April, 2017.

I believe I own the very first A12 "Code 97 Rallye Green" Roadrunner. 17th 6bbl RR off the Lynch Road Assembly Plant. smile
The restoration is a work in progress...coming along though.

curious, based on what? work Cars were not built in VIN order & 9A246399 would've been the 17 VIN sequence assigned to a "M"-code Road Runner.

Does someone have a build order list?

Yes I'm aware about the VIN sequence. Dave Watt, an A12 enthusiast, who did some research on my car prior to me purchasing it, provided some details about my car. From what he could tell, he believes it was the first Rallye Green A12 car built. Could he be wrong? Of course. He's pretty good though. The car has a unique history, but at the end of the day, it's M code roadrunner, just like the others built along side it.

You have to love Rallye Green

Here is my old RG A12
This was one of the most highly optioned A12's I had ever seen.

Console Auto, Buckets, PS,PB, Wood Wheel, AM/8,Tach,Rocker Molding, Reflective Stripe, Tinted Glass, Vinyl Top.

Maybe more I can't remember

Nice A12's. The one thing about Rallye Green and Bahama Yellow is that they were much more prevalent on A12 cars than on 383 and 426 equipped RR's.

Weird. All Car lines? as of September 14th, 1970? I don't think I've ever seen a C body in Lemon Twist. Anybody ever see a Lemon Twist New Yorker?
