Jim did my alternator for my 1970 Duster 340. It's sexy! He's a great guy to deal with.

It will come back looking like it did from the factory. Jim does a full evaluation of your core before he starts.

If you send Jim a nasty media blasted or corroded core, you can't expect miracles, you can only do so much with a rough core. Regardless, you'll still end up with the best possible outcome. However, if you send him a nice core, one that's never been media blasted, etc. he delivers jewelry in return.

Thanks Scott, appreciate the kind words from a true craftsman. Folks, bottom line is the better the core condition the better the potential for a satisfactory outcome. If the core hs not been through an aggresive media blast then it will have a relatively smooth finish. This varies a little depending on the age of the mold and the purity of the metal used to cast the shell(or shield as CC calls the alternator housing). Again, as Scott mentioned above we can't put fairey dust on corroded or abraided castings and make the "boo boos" go away. We can however, do some pretty amazing repair work for cracks, chips, and even broken/missing casting fins. Rob Brombacker has been associated with Dixie Restorations for over four years now and he is a wizard when it comes to aluminum casting repairs. BTW - if you need an OE level driveshaft, E/B body, he is your guy!
