I just pick ed up an original B5 1971 Charger 500 with rubber bumpers. Does anyone have numbers on how many 1971 Charger came with rubber bumpers?

I think there was a similar thread last week where you claimed the same thing, and you are wrong again - those numbers exist. I do not have them, and I'm fuzzy with availability of rubber bumpers for the Chargers other than the R/T and Super Bee, but certainly someone out there may have the numbers.

What about the breakdown on color and options on 71 chargers. I found a site that breaks down as far as how many superbbes, 500's and R/T's where built but what about options and colors.

How do you find out if it's one of ??

Galen Govier.

Just remember that all that 1 of 1 stuff is BS.

They were available on all Chargers as code A54, but only in colors GB5, GF7, FJ6, EV2, FC7, and GY3.

I've seen the Satellite/RR/GTX numbers for rubber bumpers, and they're small, so I would guess the option is probably just as rare on a Charger, especially a 500.

Are you talking about galens numbers? Thats his registry and not actual production number. From what i understand there is no way to know any option or color breakdowns unless all the cars are accounted for in production, which will never happen. The only thing i thought we had was car build numbers which are designated in the VIN not the buildsheet or fendertag...

Here's a production report for the 1968 Barracuda.

Are you suggesting these don't exist for 1971 Charger 500s?

You're mixing up some the real facts with some of the items that people use for facts, such as Galen's Registry.

This car was owned by an 80 year old lady for the last 24 years, include with the car was receipts dating back to 1985. The vin is very low 0048. I will post pictures when it quits snowing. Also the build sheet was still under the back seat in readable condition.

I guess not many people like that option. Do you know what the additonal price was to order them?

However, you CANNOT apply the blue percentage to Charger 500s to arrive at a number - it will statistically incorrect and start BS rumors that will appear as fact on some guy's display at Carlisle.

That adds up to 97% which I'm sure is mostly due to rounding. My '71 Charger would be somewhere outside that number. Do they ever list percentage that were special order colors?

BTW, I had a '71 Bee EV2 with colored bumpers.

I have a TX9 (black) 71 Charger R/T. So it's roughly 1 of 198 of all chargers. Less in R/T's. I would like to know how many where made in what i call triple black. Black color, stripes, vinyl top and interior. Basically all black. Also has A/C and a 440 magnum.

The fact is you don't know, so don't speculate.

Those numbers are for ALL Chargers, so you cannot use a percentage from a sample and apply it to something smaller, like the R/T. When you see actual numbers, it's because there actually is a percentage for that model that exists. For 1971, things get a little funny and much of that info that you seek just isn't there.
