I was wondering if anyone has notched their rear frame, cut and moved the frame in on both sides for more tire room? I want to mini tub my Duster and I know a lot of people mini tub their cars but I want as much room as possible, so I was thinking about cutting the frame the length of the wheel well, along with the trunk, moving everything in, and then splicing it in and reinforcing everything. I was also wondering about the angle of the shocks and if I need to keep it stock and move the mounts because everything is going to be moved so far in. Also how narrow is to narrow for leaf springs or does it matter? The main reason for all this is because I don't want to back half it and lose my trunk, back seat ect.. .

moving the frame rail is back halfing the car

mini tubbing would be moving the wheelweel over a couple inches to the frame

I would mini tubb then use a B-body rear to get alot more back space on the rim

that will put more tire under it

if you are wanting all the tire under the fenders then it needs back 1/2ed

I went with a truck cause this is easy-er done

I used an A-body 8 3/4 and just tubbed the bed to run 12"welds and 29x15.5x15 M/T sportsman pros

tucked them right inside the stepside fenders

mini-tubbin a Duster will give about 3" more room (moving the wheelwell to the frame)and do a leaf-spring inboard kit.......I have a 12" wide rim with room to spare in my Demon.

That's a beautiflu job there.

On my Duster we mini-tubbed and went to a ladder bar setup. If I ever finish it I should have room for a 13" tire.

If you notch the frame, the springs using a std relocation kit will be the first point of interference, unless they are moved to the inside of the rails.

If you ladder/4 link it that isn't an issue.

On my duster I have about 15" from inner to outer well.

I notched my frame, on a ebody the frame is wider in the rear.
I can fit a 12 wide rim.
